New Surgical Techniques

At the end of the 1980s and the start of the 1990s, Dr. Mikel Sánchez developed the novel technique using the anterior cruciate ligament guide and the technique for problems of complex shoulder instability, and since then, R&D have played a key role in the day to day workings of the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit. The huge volume of work at the UCA and the knowledge of doctors, biologists and pharmacists enable us to develop a highly sophisticated R&D department capable of tending to the needs of our patients.

With the development of a high-quality clinical and preclinical investigation as its objective, which serves as a tool at the hands of society to improve the quality of people’s lives, the UCA is constantly seeking to develop new surgical techniques to apply breakthrough treatments.
