Dr. Juan F. Azofra studied Medicine from 1981 to 1987 at the University of Zaragoza graduating with first-class honours. He studied the specialty of Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery for five years (1990-1994) through the M.I.R. (Resident Medical Intern) scheme at the Hospital of Basurto in Bilbao and then went on to become part of Dr. Mikel Sánchez's Arthroscopic Surgery Unit.
He is a member of the Spanish Association of Arthroscopy and has participated as a speaker and as a teacher in several of the association's congresses and courses in addition to other relevant congresses on arthroscopic surgery as experimentation, research and application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in traumatology and orthopedic surgery in partnership with BTI (Biotechnology Institute S.L.).
Furthermore, he has also worked on the development and elaboration of articles mainly on plasma rich in growth factors, in national journals such as Cuadernos de Artroscopia and in international journals such as Arthroscopy, Rheumatology, American Journal Sports Medicine, etc.
