What is it?
The shoulder joint is one of the most complex in the human body. It is made up of bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and muscles that work together to allow a wide range of motion. When any of these components are affected, shoulder pain occurs, limiting mobility and negatively impacting a person’s quality of life.
This pain can affect people of all ages, ranging from mild discomfort to intense suffering that restricts arm movement. It may present as persistent or sharp pain in the shoulder joint, which, as we have said, is one of the body’s most complex. Additionally, shoulder pain is a major public health concern, with 1 in 3 people being estimated to experience this condition at some point in their lives.
