Chronic musculoskeletal pain—particularly in the spine—is one of the leading causes of disability in modern society. With today’s ageing population, this condition is expected to become increasingly common.
At present, most treatments focus on relieving symptoms, without addressing the underlying damage or slowing the degenerative process. Moreover, such treatments are not always effective, and in many cases, surgery remains the only option, entailing significant risks and side-effects.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE BIOLOGICAL THERAPIES
At the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit (UCA), we are pioneers in the application of biological therapies using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Our team is highly skilled in the use of PRP to relieve pain and improve patient outcomes. We apply PRP as a primary treatment, as well as in combination with traditional methods, achieving excellent results for pain management in both cases.
PRP injections have proven effective in treating a variety of conditions, from osteochondral problems to muscle, ligament, and nerve injuries, allowing many patients to delay or even avoid surgery.
