In the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit 3D technology is used as a diagnosis and surgical planning tool.
A CT scanner, or other type of scanner, is used to create a real life-size image of the injured area. This image enables the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit doctors to show their patients a graphic image of the extent of the injury and to make a preoperative assessment. This results in more accurate diagnosis and cost savings as other additional tests are not required and there is optimal surgical planning. The end result is reduced surgery time and an optimised use of instruments and implants.
This system is personalised for each patient and the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit medical team evaluates and assesses the patient regarding the benefits of using this cutting-edge technology.
