Dr. Jaime Oraa studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of the Basque Country (UPV), graduating in 2011. He specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the University Hospital of Basurto (Bilbao) between 2012 and 2017. During this stage, he also made a residency in the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit (UCA) and another residency at the University Hospital of La Paz, in Madrid. He joined the medical team of the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit (UCA) and Advanced Biological Therapy Unit (UTBA) of Dr. Mikel Sanchez in 2017.
His areas of interest include Sports Medicine, Biological Therapies and pathology related to the shoulder and elbow, as well as the knee. Therefore, in 2021 he promoted together with Dr. Sergio Gonzalez the Shoulder and Elbow Unit within the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit (UCA) of Dr. Mikel Sanchez.
He is currently a member of the Basque-Navarre Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SVNCOT), the Spanish Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT), as well as the Spanish Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECHC).
Throughout his professional career, he has participated as a speaker at several national and international congresses and scientific meetings. He is also the author of several scientific publications on the use of 3D technology in the field of Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery, and co-author of several other publications on Plasma Rich in Growth Factors.
He has participated as a professor in the university master's degree 'Updating Course in the evaluation and treatment of pathologies of the Upper Extremity', in the Degree of Physiotherapy of the University Schools Gimbernat-Cantabria.
Educated since childhood in the values of sport, Dr. Oraa combines medical practice with another of his great passions, triathlon. Federated as a member of the local triathlon team Dida Kirol Taldea, he combines his working day with training.
