The latest technology and physiotherapy at the UFA: the new AlterG anti-gravity mat helps to speed up the rehabilitation process

The Advanced Physiotherapy Unit (UFA, according to the Spanish acronym), belonging
to the UCA of Dr. Mikel Sánchez, has the AlterG anti-gravity mat, a treadmill with a
pressure chamber that reduces gravity so that the patient can walk and even run
safely, which helps to speed up the rehabilitation process.

Elite athletes such as footballers, cyclists, basketball players and other athletes
belonging to another sport specialities use the AlterG of the Advanced Physiotherapy
Unit to accelerate the recovery of sports injuries and post-surgical treatments.

It is particularly suitable for the rehabilitation of a wide range of patients with various
lower limb pathologies and it is very useful to improve the aerobic conditioning while
the rehabilitation process is carried out. This mat provides real-time visual information
that improves running technique and balance, apart from facilitating a wider stride and
greater speed, which allows the patient to correct possible misalignments while
walking. Moreover, it also has an interior front camera that records video in real time,
which helps to detect anomalies when walking or running.
